After three long years, I finally returned to the Land of Smiles in mid-December 2022.
The last time I was here, it was late 2019, just before the beginning of COVID.
While I've only been back for two weeks, it feels like I never really left; everything feels so familiar - from the hot and humid afternoons to the rush hour traffic to the crowds of people in the malls and streets.
I'm planning to stay in Bangkok for another month and work on my business during this time.
Now, let's get to the results for the final month of 2022.
My original goal for 2022 was to earn over $2.5K a month; ultimately, I fell short of that goal but still ended up with a new revenue record of $2.2K in December.
This was driven by increases in conversion rates for affiliate content, thanks to Lasso displays, and temporary boosts in commission rates by Amazon Associates throughout the year.
As a result, the percentage of revenue from Amazon has crept back up to 70%, which I need to keep an eye on and act accordingly to diversify once more into alternative merchants.
Overall, I'm pleased with December results but need to continue making content improvements to keep the same rate of revenue going, as commission rates for Amazon Associates will return to normal in January.
For the full year, revenue and traffic both doubled from 2021 levels as the website continued to recover and grow after a year of struggling following the December 2020 Core Update.
In terms of progress, I worked on-and-off on the website during 2022 and used content writers and VAs to supplement my own work.
After leaving my agency job in September, however, I worked exclusively on updating old content into Lasso format, and this has had a significant impact on revenue.
For 2023, my plan is to double revenue again, with a target of $4-$4.5K by the end of the year.
While I'm in Thailand, however, I'm going to make sure I enjoy my time here as well. 😊
